San Francisco is the Jewel of Northern California and among the most gorgeous cities in the United States. This city has museums, parks, beaches, entertainment options, and great neighborhoods. Golden Gate Bridge

Therefore, the U.S. Travel Service stated it as the most fabulous artificial sight in the USA. This bridge connects the city with various districts to the north of the city, like Marin County. Alcatraz Island

Located on Alcatraz Island in San Francisco Bay, the notorious and historic Alcatraz penitentiary is among America’s most infamous prisons. The prison was in operation until 1963 when it was shut down. However, it was later opened in 1973, serving as a tourist attraction. Famous criminals like the “Birdman” and Al Capone were inmates here. You will find a ferry that takes tourists over the Island to the site as you listen to an audio recording of the prison’s life. Former guards and inmates of Alcatraz usually voice the audio narration. 

Cable Cars

Since San Francisco is built on many hills, cable cars were introduced in 1873 to help its residents maneuver easily. The few cable cars present to date offer a great way of exploring the city’s historical fashion and style. Besides, cable cars are the only motors declared a historical monument due to their uniqueness. The most scenic trails to use with the cable cars are the Powell-Hyde and Powell-Mason, and you will get to various attractions like Lombard Street and Fisher’s Wharf. You can purchase a pass if you plan to take a couple of rides or buy a ticket on board the cable car if it’s one trip only.

Fisherman’s Wharf

If you have limited time in the city, this site should be among your few attractions to tour. Fisherman’s Wharf is popular for its restaurants, beautiful setting along the waterfront, and shops. This site once served as a little Italy of the city. You can stroll around the site or take a sightseeing cruise for panoramic views of San Francisco.
